Assam, terre des Dieux

Nestled in the Brahmaputra valley, Assam is a beautiful and diverse state with an incredible range of cultures and landscapes located in the northeast of India. From time to time people from different origins, religion and cultures have migrated to this place. The Muslim invasions brought Islam into the region. Sikhism flourished here as well as Buddhist communities. With the advent of new faiths and religions, many temples and monuments were built all over Assam. They look now as the silent witnesses of a glorious past.
